Al is survived by his wife of 53 years Becky (Fair) Hatch and their three children – Marsha (Hatch) and Tim Reves of Olathe, KS; Mike and Melynda Hatch of Overland Park, KS; and Michele (Hatch) and Roger Crossman of Liberal, KS. He also leaves behind 10 grandchildren – Kennedy (Reves) and Grant Bull of Overland Park, KS, Mollie Reves, Cooper Reves and Max Reves of Olathe, KS; Mitchel and Mackenzie Schiff of Andale, KS, Madi Hatch and Mason Hatch of Overland Park, KS; McKenzi Crossman, Grace Crossman, and Noah Crossman of Liberal, KS. Al graduated from McDonald High School and earned his bachelor’s and master’s degrees from Emporia State University. While attending Emporia State he met the love of his life and future bride, Becky. They were married May 29, 1966 in South Hutchinson, KS.

Al worked as a teacher and coach before moving into banking and real estate where he thrived for 45 years.

In church he held various roles including Sunday school teacher, head of evangelism, leader of the administrative board and Sunday night youth group sponsor.

Al enjoyed singing with the Promissory Notes, The Travelaires, in the choir and at the Christmas Cantatas. He shared his talents at many weddings, funerals and church services.

Al also held leadership roles in Lions Club, Booster Clubs, Data Center Board, Nine County Developers, KBA Board, 4-H Council, Salvation Army and Heart Drive.

He was always willing to volunteer at High School athletic activities including football, basketball and track.

During his retirement he and Becky enjoyed golfing, time at their cabin, attending grandchildren’s activities and vacationing. He was a regular contributor at the “Truth Tellers” coffee club at Stacey’s.

“Mr Perfect” was known for his playful orneriness, but he will be remembered by all who knew and loved him as a faithful servant of Christ and devout family man.
