Alvin LeRoy Wheaton died on Thursday November, 3rd 2016. He was born January 16, 1939 in rural Edwards County to W. H. and Dorothy Miller Wheaton.

Alvin was a lifetime farmer-stockman. Other pursuits in past years were Lewis Coop Board Member, founding member of Star Alfalfa and Wayne township board. Also, he was a lifetime member of the Edwards County 4-H Foundation.

He married Barbara Judy McClaren November 30, 1957.  To the marriage, 3 children were born Aaron, Deborah and Jeannine. Alvin’s life revolved around his family, friends and farming. He also enjoyed motorcycles, going to the races and driving truck.

He was preceded in death by his parents, a sister Arvilla Wheaton Wells, and grandson Jacob William Wheaton. Survivors include his wife Judy, son Aaron Wheaton and Denise of Lewis, daughter Deborah Calhoun and husband James of Ozark Missouri, daughter Jeannine Bowman and husband Jimbob of Lewis, 13 grandchildren and 5 great grandchildren.

Graveside services will be Monday November, 7th 2016 at 11:00am at Wayne township Cemetery with a meal and fellowship following at Wayne township Community Hall in Lewis. In lieu of flowers, contributions are suggested to the Edwards County 4-H Foundation or the Edwards County EMS in care of the McKillip Memorial Funeral Home P.O. Box 304, Kinsley, KS 67547
