Betty Haskell, age 85 passed away on May 15, 2015 at the Kiowa County Hospital. She was born Dec. 6, 1929, to Hubert and Elizabeth (Proberts) Ellis.
She was a lifelong resident of Kinsley. She was a homemaker, bookkeeper and clerk at the Twice Is Nice.
She married Martin L. Haskell in 1948. They later divorced. To this union was born 11 children; Darwin (Debbie) of Haviland, Gary, Doug (Brenda), Mike (Ella), Darrell (Vicky), Jayme (Ron) Polson and Barry all of Kinsley, David (Cindy), Brad (Tammy) both of Dodge City, Danny (Colette) of Great Bend and Joy (Stanley) Ditges of Offerle, 39 grandchildren, 46 great grandchildren, 1 great great grandchild and two on the way, 3 sisters; Naomi Cramer, Nancy Dimmick, Emma McLaughlin.
She was preceded in death by her parents, a son Darwin, one grandson, and 2 great grandchildren and a sister Bonnie Bradbury.
Services will be Friday, May 22, at 10:30 am at McKillip Memorial Chapel in Kinsley with Pastor Stanley Palmer presiding. Burial will be in Evergreen Cemetery in Offerle. Memorials are suggested to Kinsley Pride or the Oak Manor in care of the funeral home.
