Clayton E. "Buzz" Hamblin went to be with his Lord and Savior November 28, 2017 at his home in Centerview. He was born December 22, 1943 in McPherson, Kansas to Clayton O. and Eloise (Bruce) Hamblin.
Buzz grew up in McPherson where he played baseball during his school years. He attended and graduated from McPherson High School in 1961. Buzz also graduated from a Kansas City Area Technical School for Diesel and Auto Mechanics.
Buzz married Carol Rich on June 29, 1991 in Lewis, Kansas. Buzz was Manager of the Service Center for the Lewis Coop for 26 years. He enjoyed woodworking, his donkeys, entertaining his grandchildren, and traveling to visit friends and family. One of his favorite activities was driving the kiddie cars at Lewis Days, 4th of July, many local parades, the Tired Iron Show, and several Oktoberfests.
Buzz was a member of the Lewis Christian Church, Star of Hope Chapter #193 Order of the Eastern Star- of Greensburg; Edwards County Farm Bureau Board; Kiowa Masonic Lodge #293 of Greensburg; Fort Larned Historical Society; and 32nd Degree Scottish Rite of Freemasonry, S.J.; Midian Shriners of Wichita. Buzz served as OES Worthy Patron for 15 years, Worshipful Master of the Lodge for 9 year; and Chairman of the Board of the Lewis Christian Church.
Survivors include wife Carol; daughters Chris Mines, Galva; Sue Vogts, Galva Tresha Madden, Norman OK; and Dena Patee, Ellis; sons Clayton M. Hamblin, McPherson; and Bret Lamb, Friend NE; sister Cheryl Bennitt Willard, McPherson; 19 grandchildren and 14 great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents and brothers-in-law Kenneth Bennitt and Greg Willard.
Buzzer was loved by many Family and Friends. He will be greatly missed.
