Connie Beth Tevebaugh Werner, 50, was born in Boise City, Oklahoma, on November 18, 1973. She passed from this life on May 25, 2024, in Amarillo, Texas. Connie grew up on the family farm east of Boise City, Oklahoma. She first attended Plainview School and later graduated from Boise City High School in 1992. After high school Connie enrolled in college at Oklahoma Panhandle State University. While at OPSU she met her soul mate, Eric Werner, and they married in 1993. To this union two children were born, Steffan and Laura Belle.
Highly devoted to her family, Connie loved adventures with Eric, Steffan and Belle. The family traveled the country, spent lots of time at the lake, and enjoyed hosting every event. Connie loved nature and animals and music and writing – they made her feel closer to God and to her family and friends. A devoted mother, Connie’s priorities were Steffan and Belle and she was especially close to them. The later additions to the family Ashley and Leddy, became a great source of joy and pride to Connie as well. Her face beamed with adoration and happiness when she spoke of Leddy and her antics, and she had no greater roles than being Mom to her children, and Honey to her grandbaby, Leddy.
Connie spent many years in social work of various kinds and had a passion for helping and advocating for people, especially children and the elderly. She made many friends along the way and was always willing to lend a hand to anyone in need. Connie was the best kind of person. She would be the first to help you move, sit with you in the hospital, change your tire, or take the night shift with your newborn. Whatever you needed Connie was there, as being in her friend circle meant you were a loved and treasured part of her life. She considered her many friends her extended family. She often spoke highly of her “adopted” loved ones to others, as they were as much family to her as anyone else.
Connie was preceded in death by her parents, Olen and Eileen, and her beloved husband Eric. Her survivors include her daughter, Laura Belle, son, Steffan, and girlfriend Ashley, granddaughter Leddy, brothers Jess and wife Sherree and Jim and wife Lorrie, mother-in-law Linda, sisters-in-law Shelly and Sherri, and bothers-in-law Marcus and wife Judi, Scott and wife Brenda, and James. She also leaves behind a large extended family of many nieces, nephews, cousins, aunts, and uncles. Connie loved so many people, it’s impossible to list them all, but everyone meant so much to her.
A graveside service will be held Saturday afternoon, June 1st, 2:00pm at Saint Peter and Saint Paul Cemetery in Kinsley, Kansas. Services are entrusted to McKillip Funeral Home.
