Dale L. Steele, Sr.
Dale was born on August 29, 1948, in Ford, Kansas, to Benjamin and Minnie Steele. He passed away on February 13, 2019, at Pioneer Lodge in Coldwater, Ks. Dale lived in Ford and graduated from Ford High School in 1966 along with his twin brother Gayle. Dale was self employed from a young age until he retired in 1999. He was an avid fisherman and hunter. He was always willing to help someone in need, especially those with children.
In 1969, he met his future bride, Linda Bryer, in Dillon, Montana. They wed after 2 years of courtship on October 16, 1971, in Goodland, Ks. To their marriage came two children Dayle L. Steele, Jr and Melissa L. Steele -Smith, both of Kinsley, Ks. Together they have five living grandchildren and three living great grandchildren. Dale was preceded in death by two grandchildren, Dayle L. Steele III and Kevin Smith. Also preceded in death were three brothers Richard Steele, Benjamin Steele and Earl Steele and one sister Helen Steele-Zimmerman.
Dale is survived by his wife Linda Steele of Kinsley, Ks., a son Dale Steele of Kinsley, Ks, a daughter Melissa Steele-Smith (Bruce Smith) of Kinsley, Ks., five grandchildren and three great grandchildren. He also is survived by three brothers, Don Steele Sr., Kinsley, Ks., Gayle Steele (Faye Steele) of Louisville, Kentucky and Gary Steele of Gravois Mills, Missouri. Many nieces, nephews, and great nieces and great nephews and loved each of them.
Funeral services will be at McKillip Memorial Funeral Home in Kinsley, Ks., on February 19, 2019, at 2pm. Any cards, flowers or correspondence may be sent to McKillip’s at 623 Marsh Avenue, Kinsley, Ks., 67547.
