Danny Ray Nash, 75, of Kinsley took the Lord by the hand on March 3, 2023. He walked out of his tired old body and into the gates of Heaven. Danny was born December 18, 1947, in Kinsley at the family home on 2nd and Elizabeth street. He was the youngest of five children born to Samuel Frederick and Eula (Burns) Nash.
Danny grew up in very humble beginnings, surely not one of Privilege. He attended Lincoln Grade School and Kinsley High School.
His younger years were turbulent. He was an ornery sort, a James Dean type. Over time he found that “It's my life, I'll throw it away if I want to” produced no rewards in life. Dan worked for various businesses during those years, and was a man with many talents. He found that he was a master with a chain saw. Nash Tree Service became a successful business. He took pride in his work as he served his community and surrounding areas until his health failed.
Danny was a honorary contributor in the construction of the Veteran's Memorial Park at the VFW Post in Kinsley. He loved children and was a supporter of St. Jude's and Shriners Hospitals for children. He enjoyed the Burns family reunions. He was of the Christian Faith. He liked to hear Arnold Murray of the Shepherd's Chapel.
Danny was preceded in death by his parents, brother Samuel, sister Rosalind Baker, sister Connie Appling, half brother Howard Allen.
He is survived by a sister Nancy Trauer of Hanston, brother-in-law Newton Baker of Kinsley, 7 nephews, 8 nieces and a host of friends.
There is no visitation since cremation has taken place. A graveside service will be held at 2 pm on April 29, 2023, at the Hillside Cemetery, Kinsley
