Dennis Stinson Kindsvater, 76, died peacefully in his home in Kinsley, KS on Sunday, August 7, 2016.
He was born on Nov. 25, 1939, in Kinsley, KS the son of Darlene and Andy Kindsvater. Andy and Darlene started the family business, Kindsvater Trucking in 1946. Both sons, Dennis and Tom Kindsvater carried on the family business after their father passed. Dennis took pride in his career and just loved trucking.
Dennis graduated from Kinsley High School in 1956, then he graduated from the University of Kansas and received his master’s degree in business and transportation from the University of Indiana.
He married Connie Werner in 1958 and to that marriage three children were born, Alan, Diane and Debbie. On September 21, 1979, Dennis married his best friend and love of his life, Kathy Wilson in San Francisco, CA. Together they had two daughters Shanon Kalb and Andrea Thayer and his adopted daughter Kayla Kindsvater.
Dennis’ life revolved around his family who loved him dearly and will miss him. Dennis had a zest for life and lived every day to it’s fullest. He was a great fan of KU Basketball, an outdoor enthusiast, reading and traveling.
Survivors include his wife Kathy of Kinsley, all of his children and grandchildren, his brother Tom Kindsvater of Dodge City, KS, a sister Pat Reynolds of Fargo, ND.
Services will be 10:30am Thursday, August 11, 2016 at the Kinsley Methodist Church with Rev. Mike Howard presiding and burial will be in Hillside Cemetery, Kinsley. Memorials are suggested to Kinsley High School in care of McKillip Memorial Funeral Home. www.mckillipfuneralhome.com
