Eric Werner, 50, was born in Denver, Colorado on February 02, 1970. He passed from this life on May 25, 2020 in Greenwood County, Kansas. His early school years were spent in Felt, OK. He later attended school in Kinsley, KS then Lewis, KS where he graduated in 1988. Throughout school he spent many years on the farm with his Uncle Dave. After high school Eric enrolled in college at Oklahoma Panhandle State University majoring in agribusiness. At OPSU he married the love of his life and best friend in 1993, Connie Tevebaugh. To the union two children were born, Steffan and Laura Belle.
Eric spent many years in banking and finance and had a talent for numbers and for helping people with their investments or financial endeavors. He was always willing to visit with others about any number of things - politics, the stock market, current events, history, religion or any other intellectual topic. He loved a lively debate and stimulating conversation, especially over dinner and a beer. Eric never met a stranger, he made friends everywhere he went, and was always ready to lend a helping hand.
Eric had a passion for traveling and socializing. He obtained his pilot’s license, purchased a plane of his own, and often took friends and family up with him. When not in Stillwater watching an OSU game, Eric could be found on his motorcycle, fishing, camping, cooking out, hunting, boating, or anything else that involved friends, family, or the outdoors. Always smiling, he loved and lived large cherishing every family member and friend he made along the way.
Anyone who spent time with Eric knew his family brought him great joy. He cherished Connie, and the couple renewed their vows in Las Vegas, the place of their first marriage, on their 25th anniversary. He was very active with his children and enjoyed creating memories with them through activities like hunting and fishing or attending dad’s day at OSU. He was Steffan and Laura Belle’s biggest fans and often shared their stories and accomplishments with others while beaming with pride. When Steffan’s girlfriend Ashley joined the clan it became apparent that she, and Leddy, Eric’s first grandbaby, held a big chunk of his heart. “Pappy” was his new favorite role and title.
Eric was preceded in death by his brother, Scott Werner, grandfather and grandmother, Hugo and Laura Werner, grandfather and grandmother, Wilbur and Lorraine LoVette, step-mother, Rosanna Werner, beloved uncle, David Werner, and many other uncles, aunts, and cousins.
He is survived by his parents, Tim Werner, Linda LoVette Bushnell and Warren Bushnell. His wife, Connie Werner, his son, Steffan Werner and girlfriend, Ashley, and granddaughter, Leddy Werner, his daughter, Laura Belle Werner. His sisters Shelly England, and Sherri Hawkins.
