Frank “Rudy” Cramer Jr., 87, left this earthly world to be with his heavenly family Tuesday evening, April 7, 2015, after a long illness at the Edwards County Hospital.  Frank is survived by his wife of 63 years, Naomi, of Kinsley, Kansas; son Robert Cramer and wife Denise of Midwest City, OK; daughters Janet Wetzel and husband Leroy of Offerle, KS; and Lisa Moore and husband Doug of Concordia, KS; grandsons Joshua Wetzel of Offerle, KS, Dylan Moore of Hays, KS;  granddaughters Amanda May and husband Jeremy of Offerle, KS; Danielle Moore of Abilene, KS and great-grandson Colt May of Offerle, KS.  Frank grew up in Lewis, KS, where he was the eldest of four sons born on May 10, 1927, to Frank Cramer Sr. and Doris Ary Cramer.  Frank Jr. is survived by brother Glenn (Buck) L. Cramer and wife Oriena of Rapid City, South Dakota.  Brothers Charles E. Cramer and Dean L. Cramer preceded him in death.

Frank Jr. excelled in sports growing up, then as a member of our Nation’s “Greatest Generation” joined the U.S. Army after graduation from Lewis High School in 1945 during World War II.  He was a Company Clerk for his unit, the 33rd Training Battalion of Camp Polk, LA.

After serving in the Army, Frank attended Kansas State University in Manhattan, studying business.

Frank Jr. married Naomi Ellis on June 14, 1952, in Clayton, N.M.  Frank and Naomi eventually settled in Kinsley, where they raised their three children.  He was a longtime businessman in Kinsley.  Frank loved gardening and was known for his beautiful flowers and hanging baskets.

He will be buried in a military graveside funeral at 2 p.m. Saturday, April 11, 2015, at Wayne Cemetery east of Lewis.  Pastor Stanley Palmer will officiate services and a reception will be held at the Christian Church in Kinsley following committal services.  McKillip Funeral Home of Kinsley is in charge of services.  The family suggests memorials to the Edwards County Hospital Auxilary or the American Heart Association.
