Geary L. Avery, 63, died on September 6, 2015 at Edwards County Hospital in Kinsley. He was born on September 8, 1951, in Smyrna, Ga., to Lloyd and Argle (Patterson) Avery and raised by Virgil and Jesse Mae Avery after his father passed away. He was the owner of Bill's Muffler Shop in Kinsley and he was a member of VFW Post #7349 of Kinsley. On March 28, 1973, he married Mickey L. Eslinger in Cartersville, GA., she survives. Other survivors include three sons; Micheal of Kinsley, Daniel of Girard, KS., and Christopher of Kinsley; three brothers; Danny Avery of South Carolina, Charles Avery of Cartersville, GA., and Wilbur Avery of Calhoun, GA., and three sisters; Shirley Chepeleff of Atlanta, GA., Betty Stevens of Nixa, MO., and Elva Crump of Calhoun, GA., and nine grandchildren. Funeral Services will be held at McKillip Memorial Chapel in Kinsley on Thursday, September 10, 2015, at 11:00am with Barry Rodriguez presiding. Visitation will be on Wednesday from 9:00am until 7:00pm at the funeral home. Burial will be in Hillside Cemetery following the service. Memorial may be given to the VFW Post #7349 in care of the funeral home.
