Jean Corrine Rhorer, 91, passed from this earth March 25, 2016, at the Edwards County Hospital, Kinsley, KS. She was born June 8, 1924, the third daughter of O.A. and Cora Mae Oliphant McKillip. Her sisters Louisa Jane Sibley and Alice Rosemary Heinz preceded her in death.
She graduated from Kinsley High School in 1942 and attended business school. On June 9 1945, Corrine married Wayne Gordon Rhorer at Smyrna, Tennessee. In 1971, they purchased McKillip Memorial Funeral Home, Kinsley, and she was an Assistant Funeral Director until her retirement in 1986.
On November 21, 2002, Wayne passed from this earth. She is survived by sons Michael (Karen) Rhorer of Yankton, SD, and Kyle (Joellen) Rhorer of Wichita, KS; daughters, Patti (Barry) Boggs of Kinsley and Alicia Hodges of Kinsley; Eight Grandchildren, Michael Rhorer, Justin Rhorer, Nicholas Rhorer, Amanda Shield, Trevor Boggs, Derick Boggs, Michelle Rider, and Christopher Hodges. Twelve Great-Grandchildren, Claire, Reid, Logan, Jack, Emily, Wyatt, Austin, Andrew, Braedan, Kinsley, Reece, and Hallie. Many nieces and nephews.
Services will be at 2:00 PM, Wednesday, March 30 at the Congregational Church, Kinsley, with Dr. John Wolf presiding. Visitation will be Monday and Tuesday from 9 AM to 5 PM. Burial will follow the service in Hillside Cemetery, Kinsley. Memorials are to Medicalodge Activity Fund or the church, in care of McKillip Memorial Funeral Home, Kinsley.
