Kendall Kay Norman, 79, passed away on Thursday, September 7, 2017 at her home in Burdett, KS. She was born on November 11, 1937 in Burdett, KS to G. Lewis Norman, Sr. and Louise Bauer Norman.
Kendall grew up in Burdett, Kansas. She graduated from Burdett High School in 1955. After high school, she attended Fort Hays State University in Hays, KS where she received a Bachelor of Music. She was a member of Sigma Alpha Iota, a national music fraternity, and was a proud alum of FHSU. Kendall taught in Burdett, Burr Oak and Bunker Hill, KS fostering the love of music. Kendall felt her career as a teacher was the most rewarding work she had done. After teaching, she was the postmaster at U.S. Post Office in Burdett where she worked for 25 years. She also served as the organist for the Burdett United Methodist Church and played for many other congregations in the area.
Kendall is survived by her niece, Kimberly Norman, Baltimore, Maryland and her nephew, Bradley Norman, , and a great-niece, Britney Norman, both of Sebastian, Florida and many other relatives in Burdett and Wichita, Kansas.
Kendall was preceded in death by her parents G. Lewis and Louise Norman and her brother George L. Norman, Jr.
A graveside memorial service will be held at Brown’s Grove Cemetery, Pawnee County, Burdett, KS at 11:00 AM, Monday, October 2, 2017.
