Marvin C. Funk

Marvin C. Funk died peacefully with family at his side September 6 at his home in Kinsley, KS at the age of 92 years and 10 months. Before moving to Kinsley in 2018 Marvin and his wife of 71 years Elfrieda, lived in Marion County, farming near Goessel, then in Hillsboro where Marvin was Superintendent of Buildings and Grounds at Tabor College for 30 years. After retirement he worked for Greenhaw Pharmacy. Both were active in the community and First Mennonite Church. After the move to Kinsley they joined, and were active members of, Lewis United Methodist Church.

Marvin and Elfrieda were involved in the work of the Lions Organization for almost 50 years, wherever they lived. Through the Lions, and as tour hosts for Prudent Tours of Hillsboro, they traveled to all 50 states and numerous other countries.

Marvin was rather quiet, a deep thinker, and a very caring, loving Christian man. His was a life of service, always willing to help where needed. He enjoyed being with family and was blessed to see his children, grandchildren and now his great-grandchildren grow up.

Thanking God for his life is the family: his wife, Elfrieda (Neufeld) of the home, Daughter, Deb Donavan, Kinsley, Grandsons Chris (Amy) Seibel, Satellite Beach, FL. Jeremy (Lindsey) Seibel, Valley Center, Granddaughter Danielle (Brian) Burr, Kinsley, Great- grandchildren Ryleigh and Braxton Seibel, Annavilla Seibel, Makenzie and Logan Burr, Brother-in-law Ed Neufeld (Sherie) of Overland Park, Sister-in-law Esther Regier, Hutchinson, and many nieces and nephews.
