Mickey V. Hoskins, 75, passed away in his apartment at Oak Manor, June 10th 2023 in Kinsley. Mickey was born March 27, 1948 in Danville Illinois to Vivian and Elijah Hoskins. He moved to Kinsley in 1997 after his Mother’s passing to be closer to his sister and family.
Mickey never finished school because of his learning disabilities but he had the gift of a photographic memory and could tell others of specific dates when family or friends had hospital stays, illnesses, births or other dates that he thought were important. We were always amazed at this gift.
Throughout Mickey’s life he faced many medical challenges. Numerous procedures and surgeries. His sister Glessna was always there to help him, whatever the need, to help his recoveries and make Mickey as comfortable as possible.
Mickey was a kind and gently person that really enjoyed being around others and visiting. He enjoyed going to church. His friends, Joe and Pam Davis were very helpful getting him to and from church and other destinations. Larry Reynolds also helped Mickey with rides when needed. He did find a home there at the Oak Manor.
Mickey is survived by his sister Glessna King, (Wamego Ks.) Nephews Jim King (Winter Springs, Fl.), Mike and Darla King, (Wamego Ks.)
He was predeceased by his Mother and brother in-law David King, and dear friend Darlene Roepke.
