Nancy Jane (Komarek) Klenke

Nancy Jane Klenke, 68, sadly passed away on August 31, 2024, at Via Christi St. Francis, Wichita. She was born June 27, 1956, in Spearville, KS the daughter of Robert and Mirriam (Gleason) Komarek. Nancy graduated from Spearville high school in 1974. In 1985 she attended Cosmetology school in Dodge City, KS until she had life changing accident.

A long-time resident of Kinsley, KS Nancy worked for White’s Carousel, Young’s Club and for the past 10 years was in business at Route 50 Liquor.

She was known for rolling around town, her zest for life despite her handicap, and never meeting a stranger that she didn’t know.

In Nancy’s free time she enjoyed barrel racing, sewing, painting ceramics, and would never miss a Thursday night card game with her friends.

Nancy is preceded in death by her father Robert Komarek, brother William Komarek, and grandson Clutch Klenke. She is survived by her mother Mirriam Komarek, life partner Tommy Carlson, Sons Nick (Elizabeth) of Haysville and Preston Klenke of Wichita, and grandchildren, Alyssa, Eli, Slade, other family members and friends.

Services will be held at St. Nicholas Catholic Church, Kinsley on September 13, 2024 beginning with the rosary at 9:30 a.m., followed by the Mass at 10:00 a.m., burial will be at St. Johns cemetery in Spearville, KS.

Memorials are suggested to Craig Hospital Foundation.
