Patricia J. “Patti” Boggs, 71, passed away January 13, 2025, in Kinsley. She was born June 14, 1953 to Wayne G. and Jean C. McKillip Rhorer. She was welcomed home by two brother's Mike and Kyle Rhorer. She later welcomed home a sister Alicia.
Patti attended Southside Grade School in Kinsley, then Jr. High School in Offerle, KS. then graduating from Kinsley High School in 1971. She continued her education at Dodge City Community College getting her Associates Degree in Business Management. While at college she met her future husband Barry Boggs and became a baseball fan.
Patti worked as a teller at the Kinsley Bank for many years and also at the Lewis Bank. Patti was a lifelong Kinsley resident, where she grew up in the funeral business and then came back to Kinsley to take over McKillip Memorial Funeral Home with Barry in 1986. In 1993, she proudly earned her funeral director's license, becoming a third-generation funeral director who understood the profound impact of her work.
She was a proud member of the P.E.O. Chapter CQ of Kinsley. She was also a member of the Kinsley Congregational Church, where she was Baptized, Married and now having her funeral. Beyond her professional life, Patti cultivated a myriad of hobbies and interests that enriched her days. She found joy in the tranquility of golfing, the creativity of cross-stitching, and the quiet thrill of reading. Puzzles—both sudoku and traditional—held a special place in her heart, providing an outlet for her sharp mind and love of challenge. Each pastime reflected her thoughtful nature and her desire to engage with the world around her.
Patti is survived by her devoted husband, Barry; her sons, Trevor and Derick; and her beloved brother, Michael Rhorer, and brother Kyle Rhorer and sister Alicia Hodges. She delighted in every moment with her cherished grandchildren: Austin (Chase), Andrew, Braedan, Kinsley, and her great-grandchildren, Kallen and Lainey. Each family member held a unique place in her heart, and she nurtured those bonds with boundless love and devotion.
Patti is preceded in death by her loving parents, Wayne and Corrine Rhorer, two sisters-in-law Jo and Karen Rhorer.
