Robert Gene Floyd

Robert Gene Floyd, born Robert G McKay, was adopted by Neil and Velma Mae Floyd in 1957, along with his brother Richard. 

He grew up in Hugoton, Kansas. Graduated from Hugoton high school class of 1973. He went on to serve in the United States Army. Stationed in Germany and honorably discharged in 1976.

In 1982 Robert married Ginger (Heilman) Floyd Together they had two children Robert Floyd, and Candace Floyd. 

Robert was a true motorcycle enthusiast. Who made many friends over the years riding and working on bikes.

He was truly a unique person with a heart of gold. Some will say a little rough around the edges, but with a kind heart who cared for everyone.

Survivors include his son, Robert and wife, Tanya Floyd of Kinsley, Kansas. Daughter Candace of Wichita, Kansas. Grandkids, Danica, Khloe, Julianna, Jace, and Kash.

He was proceeded in death by his parents, Neil and Mae Floyd and brother Richard. 

Robert’s final message,”to all my brothers drink a beer and a shot of Cuervo gold for me.” Thank you for everything, Floyd. 

A memorial service will be held at 2pm on January 31, 2025, at the United Methodist Church in Hugoton, KS.
