Sandra Kay (Noel) Lightcap

Sandra Kay Lightcap was born and began her journey into this world on Thursday, November 17th , 1949 at 7:59 pm in Glendale, California. Sandy was born to Norma Ruth and William Sparkenbaugh. Norma and Sparky had 2 children, Rodney Dwight, and Sandra Kay. Sandy’s mother Norma later remarried Paul Noel who adopted both Rod and Sandy, and then added to her family another son, Lynn Noel. Growing up many of her childhood memories were made on their camping trips and trips up to Lake Nacimento. Sandy’s love of camping and adventure began in early childhood, and she carried that with her throughout her whole life.

In 1969, Sandy married Robert William Fischer, and in 1974, Sandy had her only child, LaRee Anne Fischer (Boggs). Later Sandy and Robert were divorced in 1976. In her years as a single mother, she and LaRee traveled many highways, read many maps, saw many beautiful places. They lived in 11 cities in 6 different states. Sandy always maintained her sweet, giving, and free spirit. Those years when it was just the two of them, it was full of hard work, fishing, camping, barbeques, and adventures. For 13 years, it was Sandy and her daughter LaRee.

On September 30th, 1989, Sandy married Lyle Lightcap, in Kinsley, Ks. Though divorced in 2013 after 24 years of marriage, Lyle and Sandy remained good friends for the rest of her life.

Sandy always said, “the world just needs more love” and she lived that through her big heart and her giving spirit. Sandy always cheered for the underdog, she always gave more than she ever expected back, and she never spoke unkindly of others. Sandy loved her work in home care tending to others as a Certified Nurse’s Aide, Certified Medication Aide, and a Restorative Aide. This work brought her great meaning and sense of purpose.

Sandy absolutely loved her son-in-law, Trevor Boggs. She was blessed and so happy to be “Nanny” to her 2 grandsons (Austin and Andrew Boggs). Nanny loved taking her boys out for ice cream as children and she was very proud of the adults they’ve become. As the years passed, Sandy became a great grandmother to Kallen Tate Boggs and Lainey Elizabeth Boggs. Sandy welcomed and loved being a mother to LaRee’s half-brother Michael William Fischer, (though no one dared to use the word “half” because he is her son too).

Sandy loved her family and loved to watch them grow. She made many friends along her way, and she would always do anything for them. Pat Rincon, you are the greatest friend Sandy was blessed to have ever known!

Sandy is survived by her daughter LaRee (Trevor) Boggs, grandsons Austin (Chase) Boggs and Andrew Boggs, great grandson Kallen Boggs, great granddaughter Lainey Boggs, step-son Michael Fischer, brothers Rod (Anita) Noel and Lynn (Susan) Noel, her former husband Lyle Lightcap, and of course her cat Chloe.
